USS San Jacinto (CG-56)
On October 13, 2012, USS
San Jacinto collided with USS
Montpelier (SSN-765) off the east coast of the United States
near Florida. Both ships were conducting a training exercise at the time of the incident. No one on board either
ship was injured. Repairs include replacing the ship's sonar dome, a large, bulging structure at the foot of the ship's
bow that was damaged in the collision.
