USS Jason (AR-8)
On February 10, 1986, USS Jasonn was rammed by USS Willamette (AO-180), about 62 miles southwest of Pearl Harbor. USS Jason
steamed across and through a formation centered around USS Willamette, in an attempt to take a position in the formation
astern of USS Willamette. Eight crew members were injured and one USS Willamette crew member was killed.
