USS Antietam (CG-54)
On January 31, 2017, guided-missile cruiser USS
Antietam ran aground while trying to
anchor in Tokyo Bay. The ship damaged its propellers and spilled hydraulic oil into
the water off the coast of Japan. The incident did not result in any injuries, but the
discharge of up to 1,100 gallons of hydraulic oil prompted environmental concerns
